Swedish stock continiues to outperform in difficult market conditions

Developments during the week at the Nordic growth exchanges

The Kapital Partner Nordic Growth Exchanges (KPNGX) index fell 2.8% last week. The Swedish S30 index fell 3.4%, while the Danish C25 index rose 0.4%. The KPNGX index is now down 34.8% year to date. Only 291 out of 917 companies in the KPNGX index delivered a positive return last week. The 3 best performing stocks on the Nordic growth exchanges were Finnish Avidly Oyj (+43%), Skäne-mölle AB (+38%) and Lumito AB (+36%). The worst performing stock of the week was Swedencare AB, down 34%.

The KPNGX index consists of all listed companies on the Nordic growth exchanges, including Nasdaq First North Growth Market, Spotlight Stock Market and EuroNext Growth.

Developments at sector level on the Nordic growth exchanges

The majority of sectors fell during the week. Utilities was the only sector to deliver a positive return after a rise of 0.4%. Consumer cyclicals, financials, healthcare, basic materials, energy and consumer non-cyclicals all fell over 2%, with consumer non-cyclicals the worst performer, down 2.8%.

Avidly Oyj (+43%) (+83%) (Nordnet) operates in the media industry. The company offers services in marketing, advertising and communication. Services range from brand building, PR and communications, digital marketing to sales training.

Avidly Oyj announced last week that Adelis had made an offer of EUR 5.50 for each outstanding share in Avidly Oyj. At the time of writing, the share price is EUR 5.30. Avidly also announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Digital 22 Online Limited.

Skåne-möllan AB (+38%) (Nordnet) is a flour and cereal producer. The main specialisation is aimed at TTT products, which includes heat treatment of the grain. Customers consist of both small and large players in the food industry, but also private individuals. Sales are made both through physical stores and through the company’s e-commerce platform.

Skåne-möllan AB is by far the most rising stock across the Nordic stock exchanges in 2022. The stock is up 321% year to date and almost 66% in the past month alone. The company’s market capitalisation is just under SEK 2.5bn.

Lumito AB (39%) (Nordnet) is a medical technology company. Today, the company specialises in the research and development of diagnostics with a focus on tissue samples. The product platform is based on the patented technology and the first product developed in the field of digital pathology is targeted at pathology departments in hospitals and contract laboratories.

Developments during the week on First North Denmark

The Kapital Partner First North Danmark (KPFNDK) index fell 0.1% during the week, and the KPFNDK index remains one of the best performing stock indices in the Nordic region relative to the other indices year to date. However, since 1 January 2020, the index has delivered a negative return.

Developments during the week on First North Denmark at company level

27 out of 51 companies in the KPFNDK index delivered a positive return. Seluxit A/S was the winner of the week with an increase of 28%. After the increase, Seluxit A/S has delivered a positive return year to date. Relesys A/S and Enalyzer A/S followed with increases of 12% and 11% respectively. Alefarm Brewing was the loser of the week with a 15% drop.

Winner of the week on First North Denmark: Seluxit A/S

Seluxit A/S (+28%) (Nordnet) is active in the IT sector. The company offers digital solutions in the field of Internet of Things, IoT. The company has currently developed a digital platform that enables its enterprise customers to connect different products and business systems. Most solutions are cloud-based.

The company did not make any company-specific news during the week that could explain the recent week’s increase.

Developments during the week for the Nordic healthcare stocks

The Kapital Partner Healtcare (KPHC) index rose 0.1% during the week. 102 out of 293 companies in the index rose during the week. The index has been hit hard during 2022, where it has fallen 37.5% year to date. Invent Medic Sweden AB was the winner of the week, rising nearly 19%, while BICO Group fell 66%

Winner of the week for Nordic healthcare stocks: Invent Medic Sweden AB

Invent Medic Sweden AB (+19%) (Nordnet) is a pharmaceutical company. The company focuses particularly on women’s health, where it is currently developing products for incontinence. The product is called TVS and the vision is to improve the quality of life for women with women-related health problems.
